Top Whatever - Best Sitcom Dads

We are closing in on Fathers Day. And what better way to celebrate is to list the Greatest Sitcom Fathers. I already did one for the Sitcom Moms, so now it's the Dad's Turn.

In no particular order.

#25 - Herman Munster (The Munsters) - A Sitcom dad that's a Frankenstein Monster. He's a bit of a klutz, and can be immature at times, but Herman is a nice guy and a good dad to his Son, Eddie.

#24 - Frank DiFazio (Laverne and Shirley) - Laverne's Father. He's a hot headed man who cares for his daughter greatly. He runs the Pizza Bowl, a Pizzeria in the Girl's Neighborhood in Milwaukee.

#23 - Jed Clampett (The Beverly Hillbillies) - Elly Mae's Pa. A Humble Mountain Man, who came into millions when he struck oil. But even as a Rich Man, Jed never lost who he is/was - a humble and good natured Country Boy.

#22 - Michael Hogan (The Hogan Family) - The man is a charter pilot, who wasn't home as often to help raise his 3 Sons. But, whenever he Was home, he proved himself to be a pretty good father.

#21 - Martin Crane (Frasier) - Martin Crane is Nothin' like his Sons, Fraiser and Niles. He's a retired Cop with a cane, a love for sports, and a Dog named Eddie. Plus, a signature chair, which Fraiser finds ugly. lol. Despite the differences, Martin is still a damn good father to Niles and Frasier.

#20 - Chet Hunter (Boy Meets World) - Father of Cory Mathew's best friend, Shawn, as well as Shawn's half-Brother,Jack.Not the greatest dad. Dude was rarely in his Sons lives and was very unreliable. Though he did pop in from time to time. Unlike most of the fathers on this list,Chet suffered a heart attack and died later in the series, though his spirit comes back for the finale. Despite not that great of a father, he was always proud of Shawn and Jack and showed them support when he could. Plus, I find him entertaining.

#19 - Danny Tanner (Full House) - A Widower, Danny Tanner's is like a 60's/70's sitcom dad brought to the 80's/90's. He's also a neat freak. Despite these flaws, Danny Tanner is always there for his girls, no matter what.

#18 - Fred Sanford (Sanford and Son) - He's rude, crude, and one funny dude. He's Fred G. Sanford, greatest Junk Dealer in Watts. Despite getting in arguments with his son, Lamont, on a daily basis, Fred still cares for him and shows it from time to time.

#17 - Jason Seaver (Growin' Pains) - A Psychiatrist. A stern man, but one who knows good parenting.

#16 - James Evans Sr. (Good Times) - Comes off as a big mean dude, but deep down he's a good guy and a strong father. He's gotta to be, He's raising 3 kids in the projects, while taking multiple jobs for minimum pay.

#15 - Carl Winslow (Family Matters) - A Cop raising his kids in Chicago, all while putting up with his neighbor, Steve Urkel.

#14 - Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor  (Home Improvement) - Parenting with More Power!!! *Tool Man Grunt*. Tim Taylor is the host of a local Michigan TV Tool Show, called Tool Time. And when he's not doing that, he's being a dad to his 3 sons...with some funny antics.

#13 - Archie Bunker (All in the Family) - He's grumpy, bigoted, and a ignorant. Still, he cares deeply for his Daughter (and deep down, to some extent, his Son-in-Law.).

#12 - George Jefferson (The Jeffersons) - A Dry Cleaner who made it big. He's loud, funny, and a bit greedy. He's a good pop, who never let his success get in the way of who he is and where he came from.

#11 - Al Bundy (Married...with Children) - A lowly women's shoe salesmen with an old dodge, and some of the worst luck in the World. But,he's a good dad when he wants to be. In fact, during certain situations, he unites his family and has a blast with them. Plus, He made 4 Touchdowns in a single game in High School.

#10 - Dan Conner (Roseanne) - For a short time, this big guy was America's Dad. He can have a temper, but he's mostly a chill guy.

#9 - Homer Simpson (The Simpsons) - Bumbling Sitcom Dad. He's both stupid and lacks common sense. However, he tries to be a good dad and, sometimes, he succeeds.

#8 - Jay Sherman (The Critic) - A funny movie reviewer and a good dad.

#7 - Tony Micelli (Who's The Boss?) - A hard working housekeeper father to his daughter, Samantha. And a pretty damn good surrogate dad to his Boss' son, Johnathan.

#6 - Howard Cunningham (Happy Days) - The prototypical 50's dad...from a sitcom made in the 70's. He may be serious and strict, but He's still one of the best dads in 70's sitcom history.

#5 - Allen Mathews (Boy Meets Worlds) - The Mathews Family breadwinner and source of guidance.

#4 - Hank Hill (King of the Hill) - He sells Propane and Propane Accessories. He's a level-headed man who loves his family.

#3 - Cliff Huxtable (The Cosby Show) - A funny Doctor that also has a PHD in Fatherhood.

#2 - Frank Lambert (Step-by-Step) - He's Mike Brady...but 50x Better. And unlike Mike Brady, who's just a typical sitcom dad, Frank actually Has Character.

#1 - Phillip "Uncle Phil" Banks (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) - A rich lawyer and future judge, who never forgot his roots. He's a great family man, though can get explosive when his nephew and/or one of his 3 his offspring get into trouble.

Honorable Mention 1 - Mr. Richard Belding (Saved By The Bell) - Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey! What Is Going On Hear?! Mr. Belding is Not a Sitcom Dad? Well, True. However, he's on this list for being a good Father Figure to Zack Morris and his Friends.

Honorable Mention 2 - Gomez Addams (The Addams Family) - He's Creepy, Kooky, Mysterious, and Spooky, He's Gomez Addams. May not be the greatest pops, but he's unique and entertaining.

Not bad, huh? Sitcom Dads are just as important as, or even More important than, Sitcom Moms.

And with that, I wish all you Dads out there a Happy Fathers Day.

So remember to Stay Gold and Resist Nazi's, Commies, and Modern Attitudes.
