Recreating Classic Matches in Old WWF Video Games

I was listening to some music from the old WWF Video Games earlier and it got me thinking - How Many Classic Matches Can You "Recreate" in those Individual Games?

So today, We're gonna find out that Answer.

Note: I'm only gonna be featuring the WWF Games from the 80s and 90s. Because 1 - I wanna keep this list from getting too damn long. And 2 - In The Modern WWE Games, Any Match can be "Recreated".

Also, WWF Attitude will be ommited, thanks to the Roster being pretty big and it would take me a while to come up with Every Classic Match "Recreation".

Anyway, here we go

WWF Superstars (Arcade; 1989)

Note: This Game and the Next are devoid of all 1-on-1 matches and are all Tag Team Contests. Also, one Team serves as unplayable bosses, which limits your Classic  Match "Recreation".

Roster: Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, The Ultimate Warrior, The Honky Tonk Man, and The Big Boss Man. And as the Unplayable Bossess -Andre the Giant and "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase aka Mega Bucks.

Match Ups:

- The Mega Powers (Hogan and Savage) v. The Mega Bucks (Dibiase and Andre).[Player v. CPU Fight Only].

Results: Only one match is "Recreatable in this game....and it's only in Single Player Mode thanks to Mega Bucks being Unplayable Bossess. Unfortunately, the same result returns in The Next Arcade Game.

=============================

WWF WrestleFest (Arcade; 1991)

Note: Like it's predecessor, This Game is a 2-on-2 affair. However there Is Royal Rumble Mode which Does allow for 1-on-1 matchups for a few seconds. Also, like the last game, One Team are unplayable and serve as bossess.

Roster: Crush of Demolition, Smash of Demolition, "Macho King" Randy Savage, Mr. Perfect, Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Sgt. Slaughter, Big Boss Man, Earthquake, and "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase. And As the Unplayable Bosses - The Road Warriors, Hawk and Animal aka The Legion of Doom.

Match Ups:

- Demolition (Smash and Crush) v. The Legion of Doom (Hawk and Animal) [Player v. CPU Fight Only].

Results: Only One "Recreatable" Classic Match can be done in this game..and Team 2 is CPU Controlled. Thankfully, the Console Games and the next Arcade Title doesn't have any of the issues that this game and it's predessessor had.

============================

WWF WrestleMania (NES; 1989)

Note: No Tag Mode in this game, unfortunately. Though the mode Does debut in the next game.

Roster: Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase, Andre the Giant, Bam Bam Bigelow, and The Honkey Tonk Man.

Match Ups:

- Hulk Hogan v. Randy Savage

- Hulk Hogan v. Andre the Giant.

- Randy Savage v. The Honky Tonk Man.

- Randy Savage v. Ted Dibiase.

Results: 4 Matches "Recreated". A lot better than what we could accomplish with the Arcade Games.

=============================

WWF WrestleMania Challenge (NES; 1990)

Note: This is the first WWF Game to allow you to play as a Generic Wrestler named "Yourself", which is supposed to represent the Player. Also, the Tag Team mode makes it's debut here.

Roster: Hulk Hogan, "Macho King" Randy Savage, "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase, The Ultimate Warrior, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, "Ravishing" Rick Rude, The Big Boss Man, Andre the Giant, and "Yourself"

Match Ups:

- Hulk Hogan v. Andre the Giant.

- Randy Savage v. Hulk Hogan

- Randy Savage v. Jim Duggan

- Jake Roberts v. Ted Dibiase

- Hogan and Savage (Mega Powers) v. Dibiase and Andre (Mega Bucks)

- Jake Roberts v. Rick Rude.

- Jim Duggan v. Andre the Giant.

- Randy Savage v. Ted Dibiase.

- Big Boss Man v. Rick Rude.

- Ultimate Warrior v. Andre the Giant

- Ultimate Warrior v. Rick Rude

- Ultimate Warrior v. Hulk Hogan (The Ultimate Challenge)

- Ultimate Warrior v. Randy Savage (a match they'd have one year after this games release).

- Brutus Beefcake v. Randy Savage.

Results: 14 Matches "Recreated". A pretty good number compared to the previous games. Let's see how many the next game gives us.

========================

WWF WrestleMania - Steel Cage Challenge (NES; 1992)

Note: This game introduces the Steel Cage Mode.

Roster: Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, "Million Dollar Man:"Ted DiBiase, I.R.S., Bret "Hit Man" Hart, The Undertaker, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Sid Justice, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, and The Mountie.

Match Ups:

- Hulk Hogan v. Randy Savage

- Hulk Hogan v. The Undertaker

- Hulk Hogan v. Sid

- Hulk Hogan v. Roddy Piper.

- Randy Savage v. Ted Dibiase

- Randy Savage v. Jake Roberts

- Randy Savage v. I.R.S.

- Ted Dibiase v. Jake Roberts

- Bret Hart v. Randy Savage.

- Bret Hart v. The Undertaker.

- Bret Hart v. Sid (steel cage match)

- Bret Hart v. Sid (1-on-1 match)

- Bret Hart v. Roddy Piper

- Bret Hart v. The Mountie .

- The Undertaker v. Jake Roberts.

- The Undertaker v. Sid.

- Roddy Piper v. The Mountie .

Results: 17 Matches "Recreated". Cool that you can "recreate" 3 matches from WrestleMania VIII.

========================

WWF Superstars (Game Boy; 1991)

Roster: Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, The Ultimate Warrior, "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, and Mr. Perfect

Match Ups:

- Hulk Hogan v. Randy Savage

- Hulk Hogan v. The Ultimate Warrior.

- Randy Savage v. Ted Dibiase.

- Randy Savage v. The Ultimate Warrior.

- Mr. Petfect v. Hulk Hogan.

Results: 5 Matches "Recreated". This is due to the small roster and the lack of matches that actually happened between it's members.

========================

WWF Superstars 2 (Game Boy; 1992)

Note: This game also has a Steel Cage Mode. Makes sense, considering that this game is basically a cut-down port of Steel Cage Challenge.

Roster: Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, The Undertaker, Sid Justice, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, and The Mountie.

Match Ups:

- Hulk Hogan v. Randy Savage

- Hulk Hogan v. Sid.

- Hulk Hogan v. The Undertaker.

- Randy Savage v. Jake Roberts

- The Undertaker v. Sid.

- Jake Roberts v. The Undertaker.

Results: 6 Matches "Recreated". Given how this game is a port of Steel Cage Challenge, the Match-Ups are the same, sans the cut Wrestlers.

=========================

WWF King of the Ring (NES and Game Boy; 1993)

Note: This game contains a Character named "You", whom you can rename and customize his stats. "You" looks like Tatanka, had he been in this game, leading to speculation that This Customisable Wrestler was indeed Tatanka at one point. Also, The Undertaker and Bam Bam Bigelow are not in the Game Boy Port.

Roster:  Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Bret "Hit Man" Hart, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, "The Bad Guy" Razor Ramon, Bam Bam Bigelow, Yokozuna, Mr. Perfect, "The Narcissist" Lex Luger, and "You" (who may or may not be a removed Tatanka).

Match Ups:

- Hulk Hogan v. Randy Savage

- Hulk Hogan v. The Undertaker (NES Only)

- Hulk Hogan v. Yokozuna.

- Randy Savage v. Yokozuna.

- Bret Hart v. Randy Savage.

- Bret Hart v. Shawn Michaels

- Bret Hart v. The Undertaker. (NES Only)

- Bret Hart. v. Bam Bam Bigelow (NES Only)

- Bret Hart v  Mr. Perfect.

- Bret Hart v. Yokozuna.

- Bret Hart v. Razor Ramon.

- The Undertaker v. Yokozuna.

- Shawn Michaels v. Razor Ramon

- Shawn Michaels v. Mr. Perfect.

- Shawn Michaels v. The Undertaker (NES Only).

- Shawn Michaels v. Hulk Hogan.

- Mr. Perfect v. Lex Luger.

- Lex Luger v. Yokozuna.

Results: 18 Matches "Recreated" in total. But if you have only the Game Boy Version, Only 14 Matches can be "Recreated". And if you wanna imagine "You" as Tatanka, you can have him fight Shawn Michaels, Lex Luger, or Bam Bam Bigelow.

========================

WWF Super WrestleMania (Super NES; 1992)

Roster: Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, The Undertaker, Sid Justice, The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Hawk and Road Warrior Animal), and The Natural Disasters (Earthquake and Typhoon).

- Hulk Hogan v. Randy Savage.

- Hulk Hogan v. The Undertaker

- Hulk Hogan v. Sid

- Hulk Hogan v. Earthquake

- Randy Savage v. Ted Dibiase

- Randy Savage v. Jake Roberts.

- Jake Roberts v. The Undertaker.

- Sid v. The Undertaker.

- The Natural Disasters v. The Legion of Doom.

Results: 9 Matches "Recreated", including 2 WrestleMania VIII Matches. Not many of these Wrestlers had notable matches with each other.

=========================

WWF Super WrestleMania (Sega Genesis; 1992)

Roster: Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, The Ultimate Warrior, Papa Shango, Irwin R. Schyster aka I.R.S., "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith, and Shawn Michaels.

- Ted Dibiase v. Razor Ramon.

- Shawn Michaels v. Mr. Perfect.

- Shawn Michaels v. Razor Ramon

- Shawn Michaels v. Tatanka

Results: 24 Matches "Recreated". The most so far. But will that change? Let's press on.

- Shawn Michaels v. Rick Martel.

Results: 16 Matches "Recreated". Not as many as it's SNES Counterparts, though still good.

======================

WWF Rage in the Cage (Sega CD; 1993)

Note: Despite there being 3 Tag Teams, this game has no Tag Team Mode, which is kinda dumb.

Roster: "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Bret "Hit Man" Hart. - Randy Savage v. Yokozuna.

- Randy Savage v. Crush.

- Lex Luger v. Yokozuna.

- Lex Luger v. Mr. Perfect.

- Lex Luger v. Tatanka

- Lex Luger.v. Crush

- Tatanka v. Shawn Michaels.

- Tatanka v. Bam Bam Bigelow

- Rick Martel v. Shawn Michaels.

Results: 28 Matches "Recreated". The lack of a Tag Team mode makes any match with the Headshrinkers and Nasty Boys impossible to "Recreate". Though Money Inc. still has singles matches. Still, 28 Matches is pretty big.

=======================

That was kinda fun. Hope everyone enjoyed. So, until next time, Punch Nazi's, Kick Commies, Resist Modern Attitudes, and Stay Gold.

Top Whatever - Video Game Super Special

It's Zero secret that I like Video Games, especially games from the 80's, 90's, and Early 2000's. So on This special edition of Top Whatever, I'm gonna listing My Personal Favorite stuff in Video Games. Whether it be Genres, Franchises, Systems, Characters, and What Have You, they'll all be listed here.

Note: Since this is The Retro Resistance, I'm mostly gonna be covering Retro Gaming (which was from the late 70's to the early 2000's). Thank you.

On With The Countdowns!!!

Top 8 Favorite Genres

My Top 8 Favorite VG Genres.

#8 - JRPGs: I used to love these, before I lost interest. I guess I got tired of the random battles. Still, this genre will always have a special place in my heart. My favorites were Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 7, and Pokemon Gold.

#7 - Racing: Despite me being a fan of Racing Games, I kinda suck at them. Gran Turismo and Mario Kart are my faves.

#6 - Shoot 'em Ups: Shooter are fun. Yeah, I suck at them too. But, I never got tired of them. In fact,My First Video Game was a Shooter - Chopper Command for the Atari 2600.

#5 - Wrestling: As a fan of Wrestling and Video Games, this is a No-Brainer. Gotta love the WWE 2k games.

#4 - 2D Platformers: The most iconic of Video Game Genres. The Most Important Video Game Market was Saved because of these types of games. Sonic, Mario, and Mega Man are my faves from this Genre.

#3 - Puzzle: Puzzle Games are both challenging And fun. My favorite is Tetris.

#2 - Beat 'em Ups: Beat'em Ups are tough, but super fun. Even better if played with a friend. My favorite is Final Fight.

#1 - Fighting Games: I love this Genre So Damn Much that 50% of my Game Collection are made up of Fighting Games. My faves are Super Smash Bros. and Street Fighter.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Top 17 Most Favorite Franchises

#17 - Streets of Rage:  Streets of Rage is fun. You beat up thugs To Yuzo Koshiro's awesome soundtrack. Streets of Rage 2 is considered the Best.

#16 - Final Fight:  Capcom's first Beat'em-Up. The Franchise has had a few good entries and a garbage one. It's since been integrated into the Street Fighter Franchise. the Original Final Fight is, to me, the best in the Franchise.

#15 - Final Fantasy: Used to be one of my favorite franchises before it crapped up and went to hell. I Hate the newer entries in the franchise. So, the only reason why this Franchise is on this list is because I still love the Old Entries. To me, Final Fantasy Was the Greatest JRPG Series of All Time. Final Fantasy's VI, VII, and VIII are my personal favorites.

#14 - Double Dragon: This Franchise fully introduced me to the Beat'Em-up Genre. Another thing to note is that, Double Dragon has been on again/off again since the late-90's, with new entries releasing sparaticlly.  Double Dragon II for the NES will always be the Best in the Franchise.

#13 - Legend of Zelda: One of Nintendo's Top Franchises. Not too big on the 3D Titles, due to me getting lost, but I Love the Traditional Top-Down games.in the Franchise. A Link to the Past is my favorite Zelda Game.

#12 - Dragon Ball Z: I'm a fan of the Anime And a fan of Fighting games, so me liking this franchise a is a no-brainer. I love the The Budokai Trilogy. Xenoverse is decent too.

#11 - Chrono Trigger: The only Franchise on this list with only 3 entries, and I'm only a fan of the 1st game, since the other 2 were severely lacking.

#10 - WWF/WWE: WWF/WWE is my favorite Wrestling Company. I stopped playing after the PS3, but still enjoy watching gameplay footage on Youtube. Favorites include - WWF RAW, WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game, WWF War Zone, WWE '13, and WWF 2k14.

#9 - Donkey Kong: From the Arcade Classics to the Country Series, the Donkey Kong Franchise is great. I love Donkey Cong Countrys 1 and 2.

#8 - Sonic the Hedgehog: Been a fan of the Blue Blur since the beginning. Sure the franchise has taken a sharp dive with it's 3D games after Heroes, but despite that, Sonic The Hedgehog will always remain a favorite. Speaking of, Sonic 2 for the Genesis is my favorite Game in the franchise.

#7 - Marvel v. Capcom: The first ever Crossover Fighting Game Franchise is also one of the Best. Capcom's finest duke it out with Marvel's greatest. I like Marvel Super Heroes v. Street Fighter and Marvel v. Capcom 1 best.

#6 - Tetris: It's Tetris, the Puzzle Game of Puzzle Games. Most Gamers Love Tetris. It's fun and easy to learn and master. The Game Boy version is awesome.

#5 - Street Fighter: The Greatest Non-Crossover Fighting Franchise of them All. Street Fighter II was not only my first entry into the Franchise, But my introduction to the Fighting Game Genre. Super Street Fighter II, Street Fighter III: Third Strike, and Street Fighter Alpha 3 are my top 3.

#4 - Super Mario: One word to describe this Franchise And it's Characters - Iconic! Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros.3 are in my top 3.

#3 - Pokemon: The Pokemon Franchise is Nintendo's Cash Cow. My first entry into Pokemon was with Pokemon Blue, though now I'm a huge Gen Two'er (hyper fan of the 2nd generation). This is my Favorite JRPG, with Pokemon Gold and Silver being my favorite entries..

#2 - Super Smash Bros.: The Greatest Crossover Fighting Game of All Time and My Favorite Fighting Game. Pit Video Games most Iconic Characters against Each other on Platforming Stages. Fun and Chaotic. Ultimate and WiiU/3DS are the best in the series.

#1 - Mega Man: My Favorite Gaming Franchise Ever. The Mega Man Franchise has had many different sub-series, each with their own unique gameplay. My favorite of these sub-series are The Classic Series and The X Series.I'm such a huge fan.  My top 3 Mega Man Titles are Mega Man 3, Mega Man X4, and Mega Man X.

 --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Top 8 Favorite Game Systems

#8 - The Nintendo 64: Nintendo's 64-Bit System. Would've dominated if it used CDs instead of Cartridges. Super Smash Bros. and Super Mario 64 are 2 recommended games.

#7 - The Nintendo Game Boy (GB): The Original Game Boy was my first experience with Portable Gaming. Despite it being colorless and un-backlit, I still hold a special place in my heart for this system and it's great library of games.

#6 - The Nintendo Game Boy Color (GBC): I'm a fan of the Original Game Boy, but an even bigger fan of this one. Not Only can you play the OG Game Boy Games In Color, but the Game Boy Color Exclusive Games are great fun.

#5 - The Nintendo Game Boy Advance (GBA):Nintendo's 16-bit Handheld not only had a great library of games, but was also backwards comparable with both Game Boy and Game Boy Color Games. The Last Retro System.

#4 - The Sega Genesis: My First 16-Bit System and one that would get me into the Sonic the Hedgehog Franchise. The Genesis had a good library of games and even though it wasn't as strong or as smart as the Super NES, it Was faster. Blast Possessing, Baby!!!

#3 - The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES): My 2nd Video Game System. The King of 8-Bit Consoles.

#2 - The Sony Playstation (PS1): Sony's most Legendary Console. From 1997 - 2000, The PS1 Was Thee Gaming Console to Own.

#1 - The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES): The Super NES was/is Nintendo's most popular system. It's library of games is Legendary. And like with it's predecessor, the NES, The Super Nintendo launched a slew of Famous Franchises.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Top 5 Favorite Heroes

#5 - Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy VII):  The first Final Fantasy Hero with a deep backstory, which I Won't go into here. All I'm gonna say is that Cloud was the first "Cool" Final Fantasy Hero and was also relatable in some way.

#4 - Ryu (Street Fighter): Unlike Cloud, Ryu doesn't have a deep and complex backstory. He's just a Japanese Fighter wandering the World challenging it's Greatest Warriors. He's disciplined, a great fighter, and an honorable man.

#3 - Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonic the Hedgehog): The Fastest Thing Alive. Sonic has great speed and an attitude to match. Sonic was created due to Sega needing a Mascot that could go toe-to-toe with Mario.

#2 - Mario (Super Mario): Mario is the most Iconic Video Game Icon ever and the Everyman of Video Games.

#1 - X (Mega Man X): Dr. Light's final creation. A reluctant Maverick Hunter with infinite potential. X is my Favorite Mega Man character.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Top 5 Favorite Villains

#5 - Sigma (Mega Man X): The King of the Mavericks. Sigma is the Mega Man version of a Fascist and a Racist, who wants to either enslave or eradicate the Human Race, depending on his mood.

#4 - Ganon/Ganondorf (Legend of Zelda): The reincarnation of the Demon Lord, Demise, and Holder of the Triforce of Power is Link's greatest foe and Hyrule's biggest threat.

#3 - M. Bison (Street Fighter): The Psycho Powered M.Bison was Street Fighters first Super Villain and it's most Iconic.

#2 - Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII): An elite warrior turned psycho. Not gonna dive into any backstories here, but let's just say that Sephiroth's coolness is what makes him one of the most iconic bad guys in gaming.

#1 - Bowser Koopa (Super Mario): The Koopa King and Princess Kidnapper Extraordinaire is, without question, the most iconic Video Game Villain.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Top 8 Favorite Gameplay Features

#8 - The Job Swapping/Custom Class System (Final Fantasy I, III, and V): This System allows the player characters to take on the rolls of various Job Classes. In III and V, these Jobs could be switched on the fly. A great way to extend replay value.

#7 - The Materia System (Final Fantasy VII): Sticking with Final Fantasy. The Materia System allows the player to customize Battle Options, Increase Stats, and More. There are 5 types of Materia - Magic, Support, Summon, Command, and Independent.  Mixing and Matching Materia is a great way to play FFVII.

#6 - Stage Selection (Various Games): Popularized by The Mega Man Franchise. A Stage Selection is self explanatory, so not much to say about this useful feature.

#5 - Weapon Get System aka The Variable Weapons System (Mega Man Series): Speaking of the Mega Man Franchise, the Main Feature (besides the stage select) is the Weapon Get System, where You defeat a Boss and get His Weapon. Then, you can use that Weapon at anytime during the Stage. I love this feature.

#4 - Monster Catching (Pokemon Series): Originally a Dragon Quest feature, popularized by Pokemon. Catch Monsters, Battle With Monsters.

#3 - Multiple Playable Characters (Various Games): A great way to increase replay value and fun of a game is to have Multiple Characters, especially with different gameplay styles, to play as.

#2 - Auxiliary Items (Various Games): Popularized by Super Mario Bros. 3 Auxiliary Items are a great way to help a struggling player.

#1 - Character Customization (Various Games): Customizing a player character or even creating your own is Thee Best Gameplay Feature.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Top 3 Gaming Magazines

#3 - Electronic Gaming Monthly: I stopped reading Gaming Mags in the Late 90's and EGM was one of those mags.

#2 - GamePro Magazine: I liked this Mag better than EGM, due to it being more fun to read thanks to their cast of fictional reviewers (which, in reality, were cartoon avatars for the actual writers). I liked their rating system and their April Fool's gag, LamePro.

#1 - Nintendo Power: My first Gaming Magazine experience was with NP. I have a whole Nostalgia post planned about this Magazine, so stay tuned for that in the Future.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Top 3 Video Game Themed TV Shows

#3 - Video Power (1990 - 1992): Hosted by Johnny Arcade. Season 1 previewed and reviewed games, as well as featured The Power Team,a cartoon show about Acclaim Video Game Heroes fighting in the Real World. Season 2 was all Game Show, though Johnny still offered tips for games.

#2 - Nick Arcade (1992): A Game Show where the Highlight was Playing Video Games. And on toppa that, The Winners got to participate in The Video Zone, a "Video Game" where the contestants must finish 3 stages in a limited time by collecting items. They pulled this off using camera tricks and green screen. I'll talk more about this show another time.

#1 - GamePro TV (1991 - 1999): Initially hosted by J.D. Roth, GamePro TV was the #1 Video Game Review and Preview Show. They not only did  Software reviews, but Hardware reviews too. As time went on, Roth was out and the show took on a new format. Admittedly, I only watched during the Roth years every Saturday Mornings, though I have caught the Post-Roth Seasons on YouTube.

Master List - Every Game Boy and Game Boy Color Game I Ever Played

I have Bloggers Block, so I'm just gonna post another Master List. This Time listing Every Single Game Boy and Game Boy Color game I've Ever Played.

Now Your Playing With Power - Portable Power!!!!

Nintendo Game Boy - I got this on X-Mas of 1990 along side Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles : Fall of the Foot Clan and Paperboy. This marked my very first experience with Portable Gaming. My Late-Grandpa used to refer to the Game Boy as the "Little Nintendo". God rest that man's soul. Anyway,Tetris was the Pack-In Game. Sadly,My Original Game Boy died in 2005..

Tetris - I LOVE this game! I Really Love it! When I first started playing this game,I barely understood it,but after learning how to play,I was hooked and managed to get very good at it. From The Russian People With Fun!!!! Fun Fact - Vladimir Putin (aka Pukin the Terrible) Hates this game because it's not only a Peaceful one,but it's also Fun.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan - It's Ninja Turtles on the Game Boy!!! As a Huge Super-Fan of The Heroes-in-a-Half Shell back then,I was so excited to have a Ninja Turtles game that I could play on the go. My only gripe is that the game is short AND you can make it even Shorter by playing on the Final Stage from the get go.

Paperboy - Along with Ninja Turtles,I also got this game for X-Mas of 1990. I had fun playing and replaying this.

Super Mario Land - Got this as a B-Day gift in 1991 and would be the only Game Boy title I would get that year. I played this over a relative's house in 1991 and wanted a copy of the game,So I got it for my B-Day of that year. The game plays like Super Mario Bros. on the NES,though with a slightly higher difficulty. A good game, but the graphics are a bit too small. Also Mario x Daisy doesn't exist and is All in fans heads. Luigi x Daisy 4 Life!!

Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge - Got this game and it's sequel in 1992 on my B-Day. I really wish this game was more fair. One of the biggest complaints about the Mega Man Game Boy titles that I have is that the Enemies take quite a few shots to defeat and do major damage to Mega Man,who in this game has a smaller life bar. Also, the level layout in these games isn't the best, and you'll need to make long jumps often. Thankfully the 2nd game would make things better...but at a cost.

Mega Man II GB - Got this title along with Dr. Wily's Revenge on my B-Day in '92. A fairer game than it's predecessor, but at the cost of sprite design and music. The reason for this is that,Capcom had Keiji Inafune outsource this game to a cheaper company.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Back From The Sewers - Another 1992 B-Day gift. The more difficult, but graphically superior sequel to Fall of the Foot Clan. This was a good title - especially for fans of the '87 Animated Series.

Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins - Got this on my B-Day in 1993. And Immediately loved it. This game was/is far superior to the Original in every way. Plus,it marks the debut of Fan-Favorite Anti-Hero,Wario. I fully recommend this game.

WWF King of the Ring - Got this for X-Mas in 1993. Had a decent time playing this one, despite all of the WWF Superstars sharing a move set.

Tetris 2 - Got this game on X-Mas of 1993.  The game itself is more Dr. Mario than Tetris. I had fun playing, though. However,It's nowhere near as addicting or iconic as the Original.

Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 - Got this game as a late B-Day gift in 1994 and would be the last Game Boy game I'd get until 1998. This game was great. Playing as Wario, using his various abilities, and going through the levels were really fun. The game is challenging, but thankfully, there is a cheat/debug code that decreases the difficulty by 40%. I recommend this game.

WWF Warzone - A game I got for X-Mas in 1998. Mediocre game, but still amusing. I prefer the PS1 version.

Street Fighter II GB - I got this game alongside my Game Boy Color for my B-Day in 1999. As a Street Fighter Game,It's pretty good. Sure it's not as fluid or as fast as it's Console and Arcade counterparts, but it's still fun.

Pokemon Blue - Bought this one at Gamestop with some B-Day money in 1999. It was My first entry into the World of Pokemon and I was hooked. I spent hours playing this and even used a Game Shark to get the Pokemon that I couldn't get. Gotta Catch 'em All!!! Would get the Red Version months later.

Pokemon Red - Got this one at Gamestop in 1999, months after I got Pokemon Blue. I used the Game Shark on this game as well.

Pokemon Yellow - Bought this at Gamestop in 2000. I liked Pikachu at the time,s o i wanted to get this.

WWF Superstars - Bought this at Gamestop in 2001,alongside it's sequel. A graphically impressive 1990 Game Boy title. Graphically, this game reminds me of an 8-bit version of the old WWF Arcade games.

WWF Superstars 2 - Bought this at Gamestop in 2001 and would be the Final Game Boy game that I'd actually own. This game is basically a Game Boy port of WWF Wrestlemania Steel Cage Challenge - except with better controls and a less evil CPU.

And now for the games I played through Emulation. After that,I'll move on to the Game Boy Color.

Mega Man III GB - While better than DWR and graphically superior to II, Mega Man III for Game Boy is a pain to get through. Hard hitting enemies that take more hits than they should, frequent long jumping, and questionable level layout are this games biggest issues, issues that never get addressed in the Game Boy games. Musically, the game is great and the graphics are pretty good.

Mega Man IV GB - Same issues with III. Graphics and Music are all I'm gonna give this one.

Mega Man V GB - Despite the cool story, great music, and fresh bosses,Mega Man V GB suffers from the same problems as it's 2 predecessors. I'm not a fan of the Mega Man Game Boy series.

Mortal Kombat - The Worst Version of Mortal Kombat. Makes the SNES version seem like a treasure.

Mortal Kombat II - Better than the previous game, but still a flawed port.

Mortal Kombat 3 - Sucky  Kombat!!!! 2nd Worst Game MK Game, right behind Mortal Kombat 1.

Metroid II: Return of Samus - I liked the first game,so I wanted to try the sequel. Graphically,it's a vast improvement over the original. Difficulty-wise,it's just as tough. I still had fun playing this, though. Another thing this game has going for it is it's soundtrack. Great stuff there.

Double Dragon - Basically a Game Boy version of the NES version. So all's good.

Double Dragon II - Believe it or not, this game wasn't really a Double Dragon Game to begin with. Nope, instead it was originally a Kunio-Kun game. But since Double Dragon was more popular in the west,Technos decided to do the conversion for North America. Good game, regardless.

Donkey Kong GB -  Donkey Kong on the Game Boy starts off as a remake of the Original Arcade Game, but after that, the game becomes something different. It's an extremely tough time, with many frustrating parts. I was not too much of a fan of this game. Donkey Kong GB would spin-off into the Mario vs Donkey Kong series.

Ninja Guiden Shadow - A fun,but tough game that is worthy of your time. Despite having the look and feel of a Retro Ninja Guiden title,NGS was originally conceived as a Shadow of the Ninja game. However, when the devs found out that Shadow of the Ninja wasn't as popular as they though, they turned it into a Ninja Guiden game with Shadow of the Ninja elements.

Castlevania: The Adventure - Hard as all hell. badly placed enemies and many many sections that require perfect timing jumping. Plus,I Hated the fact that if you get hit,you lose your Whip power-ups. Also,no Secondary Weapons. Not too much of a fan.

Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge - I like that this game corrects some of the mistakes of it's predecessor. Sure the game was tough, but not frustratingly so. One cool feature was the Stage Select,a first for the Castlevania series.

Castlevania Legends - The first Castlevania with a Female Main Character, Sonia Belmont. This game is super tough, though it's Did have it's fun points. The gameplay was also good.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Radical Rescue - A very confusing and very difficult Metroidvania game. Only Michaelangelo is playable from the start and you need to rescue the other Turtles in a painstaking adventure. Not a Fan of this game.

Game Boy Color - Got this system for my B-Day in 1999. I've always enjoyed the Super Game Boy for the Super Nintendo, but always wanted a real Color Game Boy. Well in 1999,my Grandma (god rest her soul) bought me this, along with the Game Boy port of Street Fighter II,for my B-Day. Until I got my GBA,This system was my Go-To when it came to playing Game Boy games. I still have this and I think it still works.

Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening DX - Got this on X-Mas of '99 and it was My first Official Game Boy color game. Links Awakening DX is a colorized port of the Game Boy original. This is a great game and possibly the best out of the 3 GBC Zelda titles.

WWF Wrestlemania 2000 - Got this on X-Mas '99 too. A decent Wrestling title, though nothing too spectacular.

Pokemon Pinball - I bought this one post X-Mas at Toys 'r' Us in 1999. I like Pokemon and I like Pinball,so I got this game. The little rumble feature that's built into this title was a nice touch,as well.

Pokemon Trading Card Game - Spent the remainder of my X-Mas cash at Toys 'r' Us in 2000 to buy this Game. I never played the actual trading card game, but wanted too try it,but I didn't wanna commit to collecting the cards,so I got the next best thing - this game. This game is tough, but almost perfectly emulates the way the Card Game was played back then.

Pokemon Gold - Along with Pokemon Silver,I received this as an X-Mas Gift in 2001. When I first started playing this game,It was a surreal experience. As time went on though, traversing the world of Johto was no big. I love these games and think they are the Best Pokemon Games ever. I'm a strong GenTwo'er

Pokemon Silver - Along with Gold,I got this game on X-Mas Gift in 2001. I had the same experiences with this game as with it's Gold counterpart.

And Finally, the GBC games I played through emulation.

Pokemon Crystal - I loved Gold and Silver,so I wanted to play Crystal. I loved that game too. Needed the Game Shark (built into the emulator) to get all unavailable Pokemon.

Tetris DX - A great port to an already great game.

Super Mario Bros. DX - The predecessor to the Super Mario Advance Games. It's a decent port of the Original SMB,with a not-so-decent port of The Lost Levels.

Mega Man Xtreme - Just a the Console X-Series titles are superior to it's Classic Series counterparts,so too are the Game Boy titles. An 8-Bit Mega Man X game is kinda strange, but thankfully, this game, and it's sequel, play identically to their 16-bit counterparts.

Mega Man Xtreme 2 - An even better sequel. Now with an Item Shop and Iris. This game also introduced the 1st Female Mega Man X Villain in Berkana.

Street Fighter Alpha - A decent 8-bit port of Street Fighter Alpha. Though some may fault it for the lack of a 2-player mode.

Wario Land II - A Very difficult sequel to the 1st Wario Land game. Even though there's more to do,I didn't enjoy this game as much as the original.

And that's it for this. Hope you enjoyed this edition of Master List.

Until next time,Punch Nazis, Kick Commies, Resist Modern Attitudes, and Stay Gold!
